STURGIS — The Dowagiac JV football team traveled to Sturgis and came home with a 50-14 victory Thursday.

“We played well in all three phases of the game,” Dowagiac coach Matt Alward said. “We scored on the opening kickoff and never looked back. Our men up front led the way. We controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and when you are able to do that, you will win more times than not.”

Leading the way was Hector Vasquez, Andrew Owen, Blake Saighbaugh, Jeffery Holliman, Austin Jones, Brandon Felthouse, Donovan Schoff, Austin Price and Julian Daisy.

Scoring for the Chieftains was Hunter Ayers, Bradley Moran with two, Eric Walker with two, Kyle Theis and Collin Hassle.
