Willadean Mervine, age 62 years of Niles, Michigan died at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles following and extended illness.

She was born on Aug. 26, 1952 in Niles to Walter D. and Joan Marie (Thomas) Linn, Sr. She was graduated from Niles High School in 1972, and has lived in Niles all of her life.

Willadean volunteered for many years at Silverbrook Manor, and was a caller for Bingo at the Gateway Plaza apartments. She enjoyed crochet, making many blankets, and caring for family and friends.

Surviving family includes her daughters, Amy Fuller and Holly Devine, both of Niles; grandchildren Halie Mervine, Ashley Fletcher, Taten Devine, and Aiden Devine, great-grandchildren Hayden Mervine, Alannah Manigold, and Kenneth Helms, Jr.; and Willadean’s siblings, Nancy Welsh of Niles, Patricia Finchum of Rockledge, Florida, Noreen S. Hernandez of Weslaco, Texas, Walter D. Linn, Jr. of Dowagiac, Michigan, John Linn, Sr. of Niles, William Linn of Buchanan, and William G. Canniff of Dowagiac; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Willadean Mervine will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 at the Bethel Baptist Church in Niles with the Rev. Randy Pearman of the church officiating. Committal will follow at the graveside at Mission Hills.

Contributions in memory of Dillard may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice. Arrangements were made at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
