Thomas Martin Stamp, 70, of Decatur, died peacefully Saturday morning, Aug. 30, in the presence of his family in White Oaks Assisted Living Center, Lawton, Michigan.

Thomas was born June 21, 1944 in Cassopolis, Michigan to Joseph and Dorothy (Rank) Stamp. His was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeffrey Thomas Stamp; and two sisters, Jennie Lynne King and Nancy Jean Stamp.

Tom’s life was all about farming, red tractors, and red hogs. He grew up on a diversified dairy farm near Dowagiac and was actively involved with their registered Holstein herd, while honing his mechanic skills. He participated in Cass County 4-H and Dowagiac Union FFA, earning numerous honors, including the Star Farmer.

During his adult years, Tom farmed with his family by Decatur on a purebred and commercial hog and grain operation. In recent years, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Tom was an avid hunter and enjoyed dreaming about the hunt during his battle with cancer.

Thomas will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by one daughter, Angela (Randall) Bowman of Hoyleton, Illinois; one son, Michael (Melissa) Stamp of Decatur; two granddaughters, Brooke Bowman and Karleigh Stamp; one grandson, Brock Stamp; one sisters, Penny (Ed) Mickiewicz of Cassopolis; one brother, Larry (Anne) Stamp of Greenwood, Wisconsin; one brother-in-law, Marlin “Butch” King of Sturgis, Michigan; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather Friday, Sept. 5, from 2 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 N. Broadway St., Cassopolis. Mr. Stamp’s remains will be laid to rest in Young’s Prairie Cemetery, Penn Township.
