Visiting Lakeshore proved to be too much for the Dowagiac tennis team Wednesday.

The Lancers swept all eight flights, winning seven of them in straight sets, on their way to an 8-0 non-conference victory at the Dowagiac Middle School courts.

The best match of the day came at No. 3 singles where Ethan Wagner went three sets before falling to Alex Wong 5-7, 6-4 and 10-6.

“We played tough, but we have to learn to keep a positive mind set and not worry about the last point,” Dowagiac coach Sonny Swartz said. “We need to become  mentally tougher. I will say that our three singles played his heart out and I’m proud of him. For that matter, I’m proud of our hole team.”
