In a little over two weeks, 19 girls will compete for titles of Miss Apple Festival and Jr. Miss Apple Festival. During the next several days, the Niles Daily Star will profile each of the contestants vying for the crowns.

Junior Miss Apple Festival

Contestant No. 3: Mackenzie Wideman

Mackenzie is the 15-year-old daughter of David and Lynette Wideman.

She is currently attending Niles New Tech where she participates in Student Council, is vice president of Teachers of Tomorrow Club and plays soccer. Mackenzie’s special honors and recognitions include National Honor Society participation certificate.

Her dream career is to become a pediatric nurse.

Mackenzie’s hobbies include playing soccer, reading and spending as much time with friends and family as possible.

She decided to enter the pageant because it is an amazing way to meet new people, make new friends, and give back to the community while making an impact.

Her favorite activity at the Apple Festival is Exceptional Citizens Day.
