PLAINWELL — Trent Monroe threw for 145 yards and three touchdowns as host Plainwell defeated Dowagiac 28-13 in a Wolverine Conference non-divisional game Thursday.

Monroe, who was 5-of-6, threw touchdown passes to Chase Marshall (43 yards), to Austin Rohr (49 yards) and Jacob Almeda (28 yards).

Jacob Geter opened the second with a 3-yard run in the second quarter. He finished the night with 195 yards on 20 carries.

Down 28-0 entering the fourth quarter, Dowagiac scored twice.

Brandon Hatch scored on a 1-yard run and Bryce Dodd hit Jared Hatch with a 20-yard touchdown pass.

Dodd finished the night 13-of-21 for 162 yards.

Plainwell ran for 184 yards and threw for 180.

Dowagiac had just 33 yards rushing to go along with Dodd’s passing total.
