Aug. 26, 1965 — Aug. 27, 2014

Denise Ann Backus, 49, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 27, 2014, following a massive heart attack.

Denise was born Aug. 26, 1965, to Robert Backus and Donna Lace. A lifelong resident of Buchanan, she was a 1984 graduate of Buchanan High School.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Blaine; granddaughter, Nevaeh; father, Bob (Ann) Backus; mother, Donna (Bob) Lace; brother, Dale (Anita) Backus; nieces and nephews, Kate, John, and Daniel; grandmother, Harriett Flenar all of Buchanan; and step sister, April Lace of Augusta, Georgia.

Her greatest joy was being “MeMaw” to 2 year-old granddaughter Nevaeh.

Our family will greatly miss her but will keep our memories until we meet her again. Please keep us all in your prayers. God bless you “Sis!”

A celebration of life for Denise will be on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Visitation will be from 11 to 2 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.hovenfunerals.com.
