A Dowagiac woman was injured after her vehicle was rear-ended while pulling into a driveway Tuesday afternoon, according to officials with the Dowagiac Police Department.

At around 4:45 p.m. that day, a vehicle driven by Scott Sonnevil, of Marcellus, collided into the rear side another vehicle, driven by Maxine Duncan. Police say that that Duncan was slowly pulling into a driveway near the intersection of Prarie Ronde and King streets when the accident occurred.

Sonnevil told the officers on scene that he did not see Duncan’s vehicle slowing down in front of him.

Duncan was transported to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital by Pride Care EMS after she told responders that she was in pain. Her passenger did not report any injuries.

Seatbelts were worn at the time of the collision, and alcohol did not appear to be a factor. Dowagiac police are continuing to investigate the incident.
