The Dowagiac JV football opened its season with a dominating 48-0 victory over visiting Plainwell Wednesday.

“We dominated play from the start of the game and never let up,” Dowagiac coach Matt Alward said. “We never punted the ball and Plainwell only had three first downs.”

Scoring for the Chieftains were Colin Hassle, Justin Taggert, Sawn Sirk, Hunter Ayers (on a kickoff fumble recovery), Eric Walker with two and Bradley Moran.

Recovering fumbles were Eric walker, Austin Jones and hunter Ayers. Justin Taggert added an interception to end the game.
