Evelyn Connors, 83, of Niles, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, August 22, 2014.

She was born in South Bend, Indiana, on Oct. 29, 1930 to the late Leo and Regina (Dietz) Poznanski.

After attending Washington High School Evelyn wed Ray Connors at a ceremony in Niles on Oct. 8, 1949. Evelyn worked for many years at Simplicity Pattern Company in the machine bindery. She was a superb bowler. She earned several trophies while bowling on the Simplicity League at White’s Bowling Alley. Evelyn also loved being outside in the sun, especially if she got to spend time on her deck or taking care of her flower garden.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Dennis Connors.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Ray; children, Deborah Connors of Niles, Elaine (Terry) Miller of Niles, William (Diana) Connors of Alma, Michigan, Cheryl (Kerry) Dubie of Niles, Kevin (Betsy) Connors of Niles and Alan (Julie) Connors of Niles; 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and brothers, Leonard (Carolyn) Poznanski of Niles and Gerald Poznanski of North Fort Myers, Florida.

A time of visitation will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014 at Brown Funeral Home in Niles from 5 until 7 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at St. Mark Catholic Church beginning at 11 a.m.

Those wishing to make a donation in Evelyn’s name may do so to the Brian Parker Memorial Foundation or St. Mark Catholic Church, envelopes will be provided at Brown Funeral Home.
