Charles Lee, 66, of Cassopolis, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, in his residence, in the presence of his loving family.

Charles was born Feb. 24, 1948, in Greenwood, Mississippi to Earl and Helen (Gray) Lee, Sr.

His mother survives.

He married Lucienne Lafontant April 29, 2009, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives. He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Juanita Hargrave; four brothers, Irvin J. “Midget” Lee, Earl Lee, Jr., Daniel Lee, and Israel Bell.

Charles loved all of his family. He loved to cook. He enjoyed music and sports, especially March Madness. Charles lived life to the fullest.

Charles will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Lucienne Lafontant-Lee of Cassopolis; two daughters, Melissa Denise (Loren) Curtis of Edwardsburg, Leslie Marie (Kendric Haithcox) Lee of Cassopolis; one son, Bradley Charles Lee of Cassopolis; six grandchildren, Joshua P. Williams of Cassopolis, Kristin Curtis of Buchanan, Jade Gatson, Jaleesa Garner, Loren Curtis II, Naomi Curtis; one great-granddaughter, Aria Curtis; his only godson, Jacob Lee of Niles; his mother, Helen (Gray) Lee of Cassopolis; two sisters, Helen (Eddie) Mose and Shirley Ann Lee, both of Cassopolis; three brothers, James E. (Nora) Lee, Sr. of Cassopolis, Jimmy (Cindy) Lee of Grand Rapids, David (Rachel) Lee of Cassopolis; three sisters-in-law, Charlene Lee and Bea Lee, both of Cassopolis, Doris Bell of Lake Providence, Louisiana; three brothers in law, Carl Hargrave of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jon Lafontant of Kenilworth, Illinois, John Rogers of Chicago; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends gathered Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, from 4 until 6 p.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis. Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at noon with calling one hour prior in the funeral home with the Reverend Rayvon Bufkin officiating. Mr. Lee will be laid to rest in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Cassopolis, where he will be accorded full military honors.
