Hicks takes Republican nod for Bertrand supervisor

Incumbent Steve Hicks beat out three other opponents to take the Republican nod for Bertrand Township Supervisor.

Hicks secured 213 votes, while Mike Gillette gathered 172, Bill Givens 88 and Jeff Josef Wieczorek six during Tuesday’s primary election, according to unofficial results from Election Magic.

In the race for the Republican nod for township treasurer, David Kuhn defeated Melissa Karl 256 to 209.

The closest race in the township — separated by a mere 12 votes — was for the Republican nomination for township trustee.

Stephen LeClaire defeated Scott Pastryk 242 to 230.

There are no Democratic candidates filed to run in any of the three races.
