Jean Ellen Corbit, 78, of Cassopolis, died peacefully, Tuesday, June 27, 2014, in Cass County Medical Care Facility, Cassopolis. She was born March 6, 1936, in Cassopolis, Michigan to Walter and Ethel (Buckhold) Corbit.

Jean was a graduate of the Women’s Army Corps School. She was active in the American Legion and was a recipient of their “We the People” award.

Jean will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by two brothers and sisters in law, James and Jean Corbit of Dowagiac, Jack and Ida Corbit of Cassopolis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather Monday, Aug. 4, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway St., Cassopolis, with the Reverend Benjamin David Hutchison officiating. Miss Corbit will be laid to rest in Prospect Hill Cemetery where she will be accorded full Military Honors.

The family prefers memorial contributions be made in Jean’s memory to Cass County Medical Facility, 23770 Hospital Street, Cassopolis, Michigan, in thanksgiving for the wonderful care that they
afforded Jean.
