Vera Louise Archer, 95, of Dowagiac, died Monday, July 28, 2014, at home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Eau Claire, where friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at noon until service time.

Pastor Justin Shepard of Michiana Church of Christ, Dowagiac, will officiate.  Burial will follow at Caldwell Cemetery, Eau Claire.  Online messages may be left at www.bowermanfuneral.com.  Memorial donations may be made to Hospice at Home.

Vera was born June 23, 1919, in Keeler Township, Michigan, the daughter of Otto and Bonnie (Avery) Nothdruft.  In addition to raising her family, she had been employed as a retail clerk for Woolworth’s.  She was a former member of TOPS club.  She loved to spend time with her family.

Survivors include three daughters — Barbara Lenex of Glencoe, Arkansas; Patricia Cornog of Rockaway Beach, Missouri; Beverly Ackles of Buchanan; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Richard (Lynn) Nothdruft of Hale, Michigan.

Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Archer; son, Gordon Archer; infant daughter, Louise; three sisters — Pauline Etter, Una Hartsox and Mildred Goodrich; and a brother, Gale Nothdruft.
