CLEVELAND — The Mid-American Conference announced its preseason football media poll before the start of their 2014 Media Day in Detroit, with the Western Michigan Broncos picked to finish fifth in the MAC West Division.

The Broncos garnered 44 points in the poll.

The Broncos made history on Signing Day earlier this year, bringing in the highest-ranked recruiting class in MAC history according to Rivals.com rankings.  They became the first ever MAC program to achieve a top-60 ranking in recruiting, setting the new MAC standard by reaching 57th; that class includes 14 three-star commits, more than twice as many as the other teams in the conference.
