Update: Brown has been located by family, and is unharmed, police say.

Officers with the Dowagiac Police Department are currently searching for a missing 17-year-old who was last seen by parents on Monday.

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating the whereabouts of Daven Lamont Brown, of Dowagiac. Brown was last seen by his parents leaving their residence on the night of July 21, using the family vehicle, a 2001 silver or gray Ford Taurus. He did not return the following morning.

Brown is described as a medium complexion African American male, with a thin build, brown hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 5 feet, 11 inches in height and weighs around 180 pounds.

He was last seen wearing camouflage full length pants with a green, brown and black color pattern, on top of red Nike shorts with a black stripe. He wore a red Nike shirt with the phrase “Just Do It,” along with Nike low top shoes with white, black and red coloring. His hair was in dreadlocks, about 4 inches long with blonde-dyed tips.

His parents’ vehicle registration plate number is BES2081. The vehicle also has  Southwestern Michigan College and Regency Beauty Institute decals in the rear window.
