The Pokagon United Methodist Church (PUMC) in Dowagiac is pleased to announce the arrival of their new pastor, Rev. Brenda Gordon.  She will begin her ministry at Pokagon and Berrien Springs UMC on July 1.

Pastor Brenda is an ordained elder of the United Methodist Church and brings with her 14 years of experience as a pastor.  She served Hinchman and Oronoko UMCs for six years before serving Empire UMC in the Traverse City area for the past eight years.

She is excited to be back in this area, as she grew up in Edwardsburg and still has family living there. Pastor Brenda’s mother now lives with her and they will be making their home in Niles.

Pastor Brenda will be splitting her time as pastor of the Berrien Springs United Methodist Church and Pokagon United Methodist Church, serving each half time.  Worship Services at Berrien Springs UMC are scheduled each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and worship service at Pokagon UMC begins at 10:45 a.m.

She is very excited about the pastoral care that she will be providing to both of her church families, as she believes that pastoral care and teaching are her two best strengths.

Questions regarding other activities at the Churches can be obtained by calling the church offices of Berrien Springs UMC at 269-471-7220 or Pokagon UMC at 269-683-8515. Each church is scheduling a social time so that members can welcome Pastor Brenda and her mother into their church families.
