• 1 to 3 p.m. — Job Fair

As a service to both patrons and area employers, we’re working with MI Works!/Kinexus and the Four Flags Area Chamber of Commerce to give employers and jobseekers an opportunity to meet and network on the first and third Wednesday of every month from 1-3pm. Tables are available for employers, and computers are available for jobseekers to complete online applications, brush up on application or interview skills through online tutorials, or get a little help navigating online job posting sites. Check tinyurl.com/ndljobfair for more information.

• 4 p.m. — Dungeons & Dragons, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Shadowrun

Lots of games to choose from! Bring your deck, or build up a character for one of the RPGs.

• 6 p.m. — Ye Olde Movie Night

Every Wednesday night during the summer we’ll be showing a classic movie in keeping with our “Renaisscience” theme. This week we’ll watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail. (Parental discretion advised)

Thursday, July 3

A weekly game open to anyone. Volunteers are happy to teach visitors how to play.

• 6 to 8 p.m. — Book, Hook and Needle

A weekly gathering for anyone with handwork they’d like to do with company, coordinated by local knitting instructor Sara Pesce. Chainmail tools will also be available this summer.

Saturday, July 5

• 10 a.m. to noon — Friends of the Library Book Sale

• 1:30 p.m. — TreeClimbers Genealogy Gathering

Sometimes the best resource is another genealogist. This group gather monthly on the first Saturday to share and assist each other. Each session starts with a brief topical discussion, and this month we’ll be sharing some of our “secret” treasures here at the library.

• 2 p.m. — The Coalition

Do you crave meaningful discourse? The Coalition is a just-formed group of local citizens that each want to listen and be heard on tough social issues. You’ve probably had topics come to mind that you wanted to be able to discuss in a meaningful, non-hostile way. Every Saturday at two they’ll gather at the library to do just that. Come be part of the conversation.
