July 26, 1949 — June 8, 2014

Judy Finchum Black, 64, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away in her home on June 8 after a long illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred Finchum, and her brother Terry Finchum, all of Niles.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Bert Black, her sister Peggy (Joseph) Jashienski of Greenville, North Carolina, and her brothers Jack and Randy (Linda) Finchum, both of Rockledge, Florida., and by several nieces and nephews.

Judy was born on July 26, 1949, in Manchester, Tennessee, and moved to Niles when she was 3 years old.

In her early twenties she moved to Charleston, South Carolina, where she met her husband. They lived together in Atlanta, Georgia, New Haven, Connecticut, Baltimore, Maryland, Dallas, Texas, and Minneapolis.

She was one of the few of whom no bad word was ever spoken, a loving wife and sister, a loyal friend, and a pillar of grace and courage in facing a cruel disease so rare it had no name. The family will hold a memorial service later this year in Baltimore.
