Darla L. Diaz, 50, of Dowagiac, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Hanson Hospice Residence in Stevensville, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on March 17, 1964, in Dowagiac to Keith and Sharon (Cox) Dingler.
Darla was a graduate of Dowagiac Union High School and shortly after became a beautician. She worked for The Hairitage Salon in Dowagiac for more than 30 years. On Nov. 6, 1981, she married Paul Diaz. Together Paul and Darla raised three children, whom she loved very much.
Darla never wanted to miss any event, especially softball, her children were involved in. She was passionate about her family and her love for her grandchildren was immeasurable. Darla’s smile could light up a room when she entered. She also enjoyed quiet times on the beach. She enjoyed drawing, was an avid reader, loved shopping and was a fantastic cook.
She is preceded in death by her mother Sharon (Cox) Dingler.
Darla is survived by her husband Paul Diaz of Dowagic; three daughters, Taylor Lee (Jason) Krugler of Saudi Arabia, Brittany Diaz of Dowagiac and Tasia Diaz of North Dakota; four grandchildren, Brayden, Levi, Maddox and Nolan; her father and step-mother Keith and Sue Dingler of Dowagiac; a sister Desiree Hullinger of Buchanan, a brother Bryan Dingler (David McCann) of South Bend; two step-brothers, Scott (Leticia) Stovern of Tampa, Florida and Eric (Cindy) Stovern of Dowagiac as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws and all of those whose life she touched.
A time to celebrate Darla’s life will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel, 61453 M-51 in Niles at 6 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014. A time of visitation will begin at Mission Hills at 5 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made in Darla’s memory to Cass County Cancer Service P.O. Box 676, Edwardsburg, Michigan 49112.
