R. Raymond Ropp, 96, of Kingston, New York, passed away on May 22, 2014, at Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston, New York.

Burial has taken place at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services of St. Joseph, Michigan handled the arrangements. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Raymond was born on July 9, 1917, to Royal and Melissa (Garling) Ropp in Dowagiac, Michigan.

On Oct. 7, 1944, he married Viola Warmbein at St. Peter’s Church in St. Joseph, Michigan.

Before moving to New York in 1955, he worked for the Round Oak Stove Company and Kaiser-Frazer Corporation in Dowagiac. He retired in 1982 from Charles Ramsey Corporation and was a member of the B.P.O.E.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Stanley Malinowski of New York.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Viola and brother Kenneth.
