Cassopolis names Top 10

Cassopolis High School has announced its Top 10 Students.

They are Thomas Bosler, Emily Waldschmidt, Stuart Ayers, Cameron Hayden, Jennifer Stickle, Courtney Kuemin, Tyeisha Fuller, Alec Hoff, Victoria Pearson and Chandler Kraus.

Cassopolis will hold commencement exercises at 2 p.m. June 1

 

Thomas Bosler

Bosler is graduating Summa Cum Laude.

Bosler is the son of Kristen Widerquist-Bosler of Cassopolis and William Bosler of Three Rivers.  He is a member of National Honor Society and Student Senate. He is the President of the Thespian Club and participated in the Fine Arts festival for three years and was a drum major of the high school band. Thomas played varsity soccer all four years, was second team all-conference and team captain. Outside of school he enjoys spending time with the Cassopolis Robotic Team. They were state qualifiers and won Engineering Inspiration Award, district winners and Judges Award at state. Following graduation Bosler will attend Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

 

Emily Waldschmidt

Graduating Summa Cum Laude is Waldschmidt, daughter of Amy Waldschmidt of Cassopolis.    Waldschmidt holds the position of vice president of FFA for two years, member of S.A.D.D. and the National Honor Society. She participates in varsity soccer. Waldschmidt earned community service hours during a mission trip to South Dakota, 4-H and multiple projects with FFA. She will be attending Michigan State University in the fall.

 

Stuart Ayers

Ayers, the son of Thomas and Jessica Ayers of Cassopolis, is graduating Summa Cum Laude.  Stuart is involved in marching band, concert band and Science Olympiad. He is a member of the National Honor Society and Student Senate Treasure for the past two years. Ayers has been a member of the Cassopolis Robotic Team over the past three years and participated in the Lakeland Fine Arts festival for three years. He played soccer, baseball, track and field and cross country. He will be attending the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio.

 

Cameron Hayden

Hayden is the son of Ron and Elaine Hayden of Cassopolis. He is graduating Summa Cum Laude.  Hayden participated in varsity soccer, was team captain for three years, most dedicated player and offensive player of the year awards. He holds the position as president of FFA for the past two years, is current 4-H vice president and Student Senate representative. Hayden is a member of S.A.D.D., National Honor Society and Spanish Club. Outside of school he has volunteered his time at the He Reigns Rescue Ranch, Region One FFA Camp and multiple projects with 4-H, FFA and Church. Following graduation Hayden will attend Lansing Community College in Lansing.

 

Jennifer Stickle

Graduating Summa Cum Laude is Stickle, daughter of Mike and Theresa Stickle of Cassopolis.  Stickle played basketball, was a cheerleader and was awarded most improved player and was all-conference and all-district in soccer. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Educational Talent Search, FFA member, 4-H member and class president. Jennifer is Miss Cassopolis second runner-up and Miss Congeniality. Following graduation Stickle will attend Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor.

 

Courtney Kuemin

Kuemin is graduating Summa Cum Laude and is the daughter of Brian and Melody Kuemin.  During high school, Kuemin has been active in 4-H and FFA as treasurer and secretary. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and marching band drum major. Kuemin is Miss Cassopolis 2014. She enjoys dancing at Miss Kathy’s School of dance and showing horses.  Kuemin will attend Hope College to pursue a major in pre-veterinary medicine then transfer to Michigan State University.

 

Tyeisha Fuller

Fuller, graduating Summa Cum Laude is the daughter of Tervonda Goins of Cassopolis and Adam Fuller of Elkhart, Indiana. She is a member of the National Honor Society. Fuller played volleyball, basketball and track. She was awarded positive sportsmanship for three years and captain of her track team. Fuller earned community service hours during children’s fundamental summer camps, teacher’s aide and blood drives. In the fall Fuller will attend the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

 

Alec Hoff

Hoff is graduating Cum Laude and is the son of John Hoff of Cassopolis and Carmen Hewitt of Elkhart, Indiana. Hoff has played varsity soccer and track. He is a member of the National Honor Society and treasurer and Student Senate representative. During high school Hoff was involved in marching band and was the Cassopolis Robotics treasure. Hoff will attend Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant.

 

Victoria Pearson

Graduating Magna Cum Laude is Pearson. She is the daughter of Alissa and Duane Pearson of Cassopolis. She has been a member of Educational Talent Search, National Honor Society and JAG. Outside of school she has volunteered her time as a student tutor, church activities, Camp Friedenswald counselor and athletic event helper. Following graduation Pearson will further her education at Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac.

 

Chandler Kraus

Kraus is the son of Nick and Lisa Kraus of Cassopolis. He is the vice president of the Drama Club and secretary of Student Senate. Kraus enjoys theatre and has participated in several plays along with coaching soccer. Kraus will attend Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant.
