Chieftains win tournament opener

Dowagiac won its opening game of the Wolverine Conference Baseball Tournament on Tuesday.

The visiting Chieftains defeated Plainwell 7-3 in the tournament game. The Trojans won the second game, which does not count in the tournament, 4-2.

Daquan Brooks picked up the win in relief of starter Brody Froelich.

Zach Williams had a double for the Chieftains.
