Commission hosts waste collection event

The Cass County Board of Commissioners and the Michigan State University Extension Office will host the annual Household Waste Collection for county residents from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday May 17, at the Cass County Fairgrounds, 590 O’Keefe, Cassopolis.

Accepted items include hazardous and electronic waste, tires, glasses, flags and hearing aids.

There is no charge to dispose of items, with the exception of tires which carry a charge of $3 to $25 depending on the type.

Glasses and hearing aids will be forwarded to the Lion’s Club and any flags collected will be given to the VFW to be properly disposed of with a ceremony.
