The Cass County Road Commission will have a detour in place Friday for the purpose of safety improvements to the intersection at Cassopolis Road and Old 205.

A turning lane will be added on Old 205 for traffic turning northbound onto Cassopolis Road. The intersection will be moved east from the current location approximately 85 feet. This will slow northbound traffic making the turn onto Cassopolis Road.

The official detour will be as follows:

Northbound traffic from Indiana will be detoured east on Stateline Road, then north on Five Points Road, then west on US-12. A reverse route will apply to southbound traffic from Cassopolis Road.

Vehicles traveling east on Redfield Street intending to use Cassopolis Road towards Elkhart will be detoured north onto Cassopolis Road to US-12, and then east to Five Points Road then south to Stateline Road.
