Several local public office seats will be contested in the Aug. 5 Primary Election, according to the unofficial candidate list for Berrien County released this week by the Berrien County Clerk’s Office.

Candidates had until Tuesday to file to run in the August Primary. The deadline to withdraw elapses at 4 p.m. April 25.

Locally, contested races include the District 11 County Commissioner seat, Bertrand Township Supervisor, Bertrand Township Treasurer and Bertrand Township Trustee.
