A trip down memory lane

Leader Publications is inviting readers to take a walk down memory lane.

Beginning next month, we will be publishing old photos in the Niles Daily Star and Dowagiac Daily News each Friday.

The photos will feature the people, places and things that occurred long ago in the Dowagiac and Niles communities.

Our hope for this new feature is that it will evoke old memories and spur discussion about the way things used to be and how life has changed over the years.

Pictures could include anything from old class photos to former businesses to pictures of the way a downtown district looked 40 years ago.

As long as it is old and interesting, we will give it a shot.

Right now, we are in the process of collecting and stockpiling photos for the section, so if you have any good ones, please let us know.

Photos can be dropped off at the Leader Publications office, 217 N. 4th St., Niles.

You can also email photos to craig.haupert@leaderpub.com or ted.yoakum@leaderpub.com.

For those who drop off photos, we can scan them and get them back to you within minutes.

We will also be placing the pictures online so they can be shared with family and friends who might not have access to the print editions of the Niles Daily Star and Dowagiac Daily News.

We look forward to introducing this new feature to you.
