Niles cellular tower stripped of copper

At approximately 2 p.m. on April 18, 2014, the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the Verizon cellular tower located at South Third St. and Fort Street in Niles Township in reference to a larceny of copper wire and plates.

Between March 24 and April 18, the unknown suspects cut the fencing around the Verizon cell phone tower and stole copper wire and plates.

Crime Stoppers wants the person or persons responsible for this larceny and will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to their arrest. Crime Stoppers also pays cash rewards on other felony crimes and the capture of fugitives.
