The Dowagiac Burger King was broken into during the early morning hours of Sunday, with the perpetrator stealing an undisclosed amount of money, according to the Dowagiac Police Department.

Police were called about the break-in at the fast food restaurant at 6:20 a.m., after the store’s morning crew arrived Sunday. Police believe that the crime took place between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. while the building was closed and unoccupied.

The initial investigation by the four officers who arrived on the scene found that an undisclosed amount of money was taken from the premises. Police have disclosed neither the amount stolen nor the method by which the suspect or suspects entered the locked building.

No suspects have been determined at this point. The case remains under investigation.
