Paige Szlanfucht scored a goal and added an assist as host Edwardsburg blanked former Lakeland Conference foe Buchanan 2-0 Thursday.

Szlanfucht assisted on Noelle Kraus’ goal in the first half and then capped the scoring with a goal in the 74th minute on a penalty kick.

The Eddies outshot the Bucks 9-1. Alexis Blake had a save for Edwardsburg.

Buchanan’s Skyler Smith had six saves.

“This was a very physical contest between former conference foes,” Edwardsburg coach Brett Harring said.
