A pair of three-run innings helped the Dowagiac baseball team remain undefeated Wednesday night.

The Chieftains scored three times in the first and three more in the sixth to edge visiting Vicksburg 9-6 in Wolverine Conference non-divisional action.

Matt Smith worked four and a third innings, allowing two hits and striking out two. Nate Lindsey worked the final two and two-third innings, allowing four hits and striking out four.

Daquan Brooks, Dean Klann and Smith all had two hits for the Chieftains and drove in a run. Brody Froelich singled and had three RBIs.
