The board voted 6-0 in favor of discussing whether or not to renew the non-tenured contract of Sieko.

Board President Scott Ward was absent from the meeting held at the Squires Education Center Monday night.

Superintendent Tracy Hertsel said that the consideration of Sieko’s contract would be to review performance.

Sieko did not attend the meeting and had not returned a message seeking comment as of press time.

In other action, the board hired Patty Waldschmidt for 3.5 hours per day as a special education instructional paraprofessional and Iraida Maldonado for five hours per day as a bus driver.

Hertsel, in his superintendent’s report, gave the board an update on construction at Ross Beatty. He said it is coming along well with several projects nearing completion including the gymnasium floor.

Hertsel said the auditorium would be the final project to be completed.

The next board meeting will be April 28.
