Niles library to host speakeasy May 2

Published 9:10 am Wednesday, April 16, 2014

The Niles District Library will be transformed into a speakeasy for a special event at 7 p.m. Friday, May 2.

The library is combining its popular Mixology 101 and Audible Art programs into one adults-only evening of entertainment.

Participants can learn to mix some great “mocktails” at the bar and take their refreshments with them as they mingle between live music in the Rotunda provided by the Tritones Jazz Band, The Great Gatsby being shown in the Youth Services area, and board games and cards in the popular materials area.

Just give the password “swordfish” at the door.

1920s-style dress is optional but definitely encouraged. Participants must be 18 or older and no registration required.

Every program hosted by the Niles District Library is free to the public.
