Irish Legends Charity Event May 15

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Fans of college football who would like to help three great charities and meet University of Notre Dame coaching legends Ara Parseghian and Lou Holtz plus current Irish football coach Brian Kelly are invited to participate in the eighth annual Irish Legends Annual Charity Event on May 15.

This year’s event features a star-studded Gala at Chicago’s historic Drake Hotel. The Gala will feature a variety of celebrities from the sports world and highlight all of the accomplishments made by the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation, Lou Holtz Foundation and Kelly Cares Foundation.

The list of celebrity participants includes former Notre Dame football legends Jerome Bettis, Dave Casper, Johnny Lujack, Johnny Lattner, Gerry Faust, Steve Beuerlein and John Huarte, as well as ESPN personalities Stuart Scott, Mark May, Rece Davis and Linda Cohn.

In addition to the Gala, a dozen golf teams will participate in the first “Coaches Cup” at iconic Olympia Fields Country Club. Parseghian, Holtz and Kelly will each serve as captains of four teams.

Golfers will be invited to check in at 8 a.m. where they will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with Parseghian, Holtz and Kelly.

Golf begins at 9 a.m. The gala begins at 6 p.m.

Lattner and Lujack will each appear at Olympia Fields and golfers will have the opportunity to pose for photos with the duo and their Heisman Trophies.
