Michael Lee Hankins Sr., 55, of Decatur, Mich., passed away Friday, April 4, 2014, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Mich.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at noon, at Clark Chapel and Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, Mich..

Michael will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac, Mich.

Michael was born on Aug. 15, 1958 to Sadie Hankins in Paw Paw, Mich. He was a member of the Decatur Lions Club. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and being around his grandkids.

He is survived by his children, Michael Lee Jr. of Elkhart, Ind., Timothy (Pamela) of Decatur, Mich., Roy of Decatur, Mich., Earl of Oklahoma, Colley of Decatur, Mich., Christina of Bangor, Mich., and Connie of Decatur, Mich.; and 15 grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sadie, and his grandparents, Roy and Ruth Hankins.
