Dorothy J. Ruffin, 65, of South Bend, passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at West Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation in South Bend.

Dorothy was born Sept. 18, 1948, in Niles to Alonzo, Sr. “Railhead” and Olivia (Ward) Moore. She worked and retired from HEalthwin Specialized Care in South Bend.

She is survived by her son, Jerry L. Ruffin, of South Bend; sister, Rosalee Adams, of Niles; two brothers, John (Rose) Moore, of Niles and Samuel (Cheryl) Moore of Minneota; and James Byrd, a lifelong companion, of South Bend.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents and to brothers, James “Big Head” Moore and Alonzo L. Moore, Jr.

A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
