Jeanne Marion Foust

Jeanne Marion Foust was born in Harvey, Ill., the daughter of Emerson and Rose (Doody) Ahrens. She was united in marriage to Robert W. Foust on Nov. 4, 1945, in Kankakee, Ill. She was a long time resident of Dowagiac, Mich.

During the war Jeanne worked with Western Union setting up branch locations. She was a switch board operator working at Rudy Manufacturing, Sunstrand and the Phone Company. She enjoyed traveling and reading the newspaper especially Christian materials.

Her surviving family includes; a daughter, Charmayne (David) Schmitt of Mattawan, Mixh.; a son, Robert Foust of Godley, Texas; two grandchildren, Chelle Tapper and David Schmitt Jr.; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Violet (Clayton) Holt of Kimberling City, Miss.

Jeanne passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Heartland Nursing Home in Kalamazoo, Mich. She was preceded in death by her parents Emerson and Rose, her husband Robert, a sister Lucille Graefen and a brother Bud Ahrens.

Her family will have a public gathering on Thursday, March 6, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, Mich. where there will be a funeral service on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 2 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles, Mich. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
