Helen Mae Warren, 79, of Union, passed away from natural causes on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014  at 7:30 pm at the Center for Hospice care in Elkhart, Ind.

She was born on Oct. 19, 1934, in Stanley, Wisc. to the late Ora A. and Helen L. (Bradley) Warren. She later married Paul Longenecker on Nov. 5, 1950, in Elkhart. He passed away in Union in 1989.

Surviving are her sons Gary E. (Billie Jo) Longenecker of Fulton, Mich. and Steven R. Longenecker of Sand Lake, Mich.; daughters Vickie Jo (Kim) Conolly of Kalamazoo and Robin K. (Richard) Orzechowski of Vandalia; sisters Viola J. (Don) Cox and Lois (Neville) Reynolds, both of Elkhart; brother Curtis (Becky) Warren of Goshen; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Helen is also preceded in death by a brother Errdevine “Bud” Warren, son Paul “Butch” Longenecker, Jr., and a great-granddaughter, infant Czanstke.

Visitation will be held at Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Life Tabernacle, 1135 Middlebury Street, Elkhart, with visitation beginning there at 10 a.m. Pastor Mark Johnson will officiate, and burial will follow the services at Plum Grove Cemetery in Union.

Helen was a waitress and a live-in home health caregiver for over 20 years. She was a devout Christian lady and was a long-time member of Life Tabernacle. She was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed crafts and crocheting.
