Cass Chamber thanks those who helped

“I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday” is a popular Christmas song by British glam rock band Wizzard.

In fact, there are many songs that wish for the feeling of Christmas to last all year through. It’s a happy time of year, a thankful time with expressions of appreciation and gratitude for gifts, acts of kindness and love, acts which inspire hope.

The Cassopolis/Vandalia Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all of the businesses and individuals who so generously gave of their time and financial resources to support the Community Christmas Party on Dec. 7. Yes, this message of thanks is late, but if we think in terms of “it’s never too late to thank someone and tell them how much their kindness meant,” then it’s really never too late.

Thank you for your generous financial support:

Midwest Energy, Cassopolis Family Clinic, Bergman Small Animal Hospital, Kemner Iott Agency, Wagner Family Funerals, Greater Niles Federal Credit Union, Cass County Council on Aging, Penn Friends Community Church, Loux and Hayden Realty, Stephenson Land Survey, J&H Oil, Smile Center, Indiana Michigan Power, Tuesley, Hall and Konopka, K&M, Lindy’s, ServPro, Diamond Lake Association, GW Jones Exchange Bank, Fiala and Smith, Stone Lake Woods, Fifth Third Bank, and cash from a guest.

Thank you for your gifts and your time:

Leonard and Sylvia Kanczuzewski; CeeCee Wilson and The Last Tagine in Paris, Jennifer Ray and the Cass County Library, chamber board members and volunteers, Robyn Bright and the Cassopolis Public School staff, Chief Frankie Williams, Beth Middleton; Rose Middleton, The Miss Cassopolis and Mr. Cassopolis 2013 court, The Miss Cassopolis and Mr. Cassopolis 2014 contestants, Chaquita Danzy, Marcia Gregg, Gary Weaver, the Diamond Lake ladies who make the most wonderful homemade cookies!,Patti Badner, Gabby Hardy, Kemner Iott staff, The VFW staff, Allen Ewing.

If we missed anyone who contributed to the Community Christmas Party, we apologize.

We hope everyone involved saw the joy in the children’s eyes when they saw Santa, and heard their laughter and enthusiastic singing of Christmas carols. This annual event really is a special time when the community comes together to host this Christmas party for the benefit of our children. Three hundred and one guests were served lunch, of which 179 were children, and every child received a gift from Santa.

Thank you to the community … and guess what? There’s only about 292 shopping days until next Christmas!
