Aug. 14, 1930 — Feb. 26, 2014

Mary Frances Thornhill, 83, of Edwardsburg, passed to her rest Feb. 26, 2014, at the Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart. Mary was born Aug. 14, 1930, in Montazuma, Ga., the daughter of J.L. Bloodworth and Leona Young. She worked for several years in Macon, Ga. as a store clerk. She moved to Niles, Mich. and was married in 1991 to Max Thornhill, Jr., and he passed in 2004.

Mary has been a resident of Edwardsburg since 2004, making friends and loving those close to her.

Surviving Mary is a sister, Barbara Gray of Huston, Texas. Also surviving are her many local friends, including her caregivers of the past couple years, Ronald and Sandra Smith and William and Karen Meadows, all of Edwardsburg.

Family and friends may gather from 10:30 to noon on Monday, March 3, 2014, at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main St. (US-12) Edwardsburg. A service of remembrance will begin at noon Monday, followed by interment at Adamsville Cemetery. Memorials may be given in Mary’s name to the Cass County Cancer Services, P.O. Box 676, Edwardsburg, MI 49112-0676.
