Thanks from the Niles Service League

Many thanks to those in our community that supported Niles Service League Trivia Night this past Saturday. I believe we all had a good time.

Each year the league works with other charities in the area in addition to conducting fundraisers. The proceeds of the fundraisers conducted during the year go to support needs of children in our area.

The trivia night is one of those fundraisers. The money raised from this event will go to camperships. This means that kids from 5th grade and up will be eligible for funds to attend academic, art and sports camps. These camperships are awarded to kids in the Brandywine, Buchanan and Niles schools. The children who receive these funds will benefit from these opportunities in many ways. Most will learn to become more confident and independent as they move outside their comfort zone. With influential teachers and coaches they will build character reinforced by their contributions. This is the future of our community.

So with sincere thanks to all the local businesses and participants in making the Trivia Night a success, this one event is a stepping stone to creating a better future for our kids and our community.

Please join us at our next event to be held April 26th at Brandywine High School. The Niles Service League will host the Colors For Kids 5k Fun Run. Come in white clothes and leave in colors. Funds for this event will go to scholarships. You can register online at http://nilesserviceleague.yolasite.com/5k.php
