Tigers too much for Niles

BENTON HARBOR — Host Benton Harbor scored 22 points in the second and fourth quarters to defeat Niles 76-60 in Big 16 West Division boys basketball action Wednesday night.

The Vikings (6-10, 3-9 West) trailed 19-11 after one quarter, but were outscored 22-11 in the second quarter as the Tigers (11-7, 8-4 West) broke the game open.

Benton Harbor led 41-22 at the half.

Niles held a 20-13 advantage in the scoring column in the third quarter to cut the lead to 12 (54-42) heading into the final eight minutes of play.

The Tigers poured in 22 more points in the fourth quarter to maintain their comfortable advantage.

Cortez Moore had 25 points to lead the Tigers, who also got 14 points from Roy Anderson.

Tate Brawley paced the Vikings with 18 points. Matt Miller added 11 and Gabe Stokes 10.
