Letter to the editor: Obamacare has done good in the community

I was in the group that gathered to thank Sen. Carl Levin when he visited Cassopolis recently and I was happy to read Mary Middleton’s guest column thanking Sen. Levin for all he has done for health care in America, in Michigan and in Cassopolis and Niles.

She pointed out that the new Cassopolis Family Clinic received $4.4 million from the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) in 2012. The Ranger Health Clinic at Ross Beatty received a $350,000 grant from the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) in 2012.

In 2013 the Niles Community Health center was awarded $650,000 per year to fund its operations from guess who? — the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).

For all those who have nothing good to say about Obamacare, take a look around you. It’s doing us a lot of good in this community. The Affordable Care website, www.healthcare.gov, is working fine now. Maybe it’s time you see if it can do you some good as well.
