Niles girls basketball coach Patrick Touhey will not be resigning at the end of the year.

After a post on his Facebook page early Friday confirmed he would be resigning at season’s end, Touhey met with Niles Athletic Director Jeff Upton.

Following the meeting, Touhey contacted the Daily Star to say that at this time, he was rescinding his resignation and plans to continue to coach the Lady Vikings.

Touhey, who replaced long-time Niles coach Jim Arnold, has led the Vikings to a district and a regional championship.

After going 0-21 in 2012-13 with a team made up primarily of freshmen and sophomores, Touhey’s team is 10-6 heading into Friday night’s game at Portage Northern.
