Julie Clark, activities committee chairman at the Elks, said the program would be a 90-minute show guaranteed to keep you laughing long after the evening ends. The $10 ticket includes access to a gourmet appetizer buffet and dessert bar featuring a chocolate fountain.

McDonald has performed with Drew Carey, Jerry Seinfeld, Bob Zany and more. He has regularly appeared at Catch A Rising Star, Funny Bones, Funny Farm and the Improv rooms. He has been voted the No. 1 comedy writer in Indiana twice and has appeared on numerous local and regional televisions shows.

“We wanted to offer the community a different option for Valentine’s Day,” said Clark. “Live comedy along with an assortment of delicious foods and desserts is very appealing and not something you can do every day. And, being conscious of the economy, we’ve kept the price tag very reasonable for a fun evening out that won’t break the bank.”

The Niles Elks Lodge is a fraternal organization committed to assisting children and veterans in the community. The organization regularly supports athletic teams, Project Graduation, South Side Prom, area veterans, school education projects holiday food baskets.

Net proceeds from the event will contribute to the positive work the Lodge does in the area.

“Making people feel better when they walk out of a room than they did when they walked in is a blessing I hope I never take for granted,” McDonald said. “I put a lot of passion into earning those laughs every time I walk on a stage. I’m really looking forward to the show at the Niles Elks — it should be a fantastic evening.”

The doors open at 6:30 p.m., the show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the Lodge for $10 and include the appetizer buffet and dessert table. Reservations are suggested. The public is welcome. Reserve or purchase tickets at the lodge or by calling (269) 683-0133 from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
