Sharon D. McLalin, 60, of Niles, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on Jan. 19, 1954 in Niles, Mich. to the late Joseph and Wilma (Barber) Conn.

Sharon married Robert J. McLalin and together they had three children. Although the marriage ended Sharon and Robert remained close and he was a wonderful caregiver for her over the past six months. In her free time, Sharon enjoyed volunteering at the local schools as a room mother, antiquing and going to local garage sales, cooking and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Shannon Conn and Jeffrey Conn.

Sharon is survived by her former husband Robert McLalin of Niles; three children, Joseph, Sherry and James; a special grandson Robert McKay, along with several other grandchildren; and her siblings, Debra Comer, Candy Dodge, Lisa Vankirk, Holly Schoner, Elaine Vankirk and Steven Conn.

In keeping with Sharon’s wishes, a private service will take place and she will be laid to rest at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
