Edwardsburg defense shuts down Coloma

Visiting Edwardsburg gave up a total of seven points combined in the first and fourth quarters as it rolled to a 52-27 Wolverine Conference West Division girls basketball victory Friday night.

The Eddies (9-5, 5-2 West) outscored Coloma (5-8, 4-3 West) 17-7 in the opening eight minutes and then pitched a shutout in the final quarter. Edwardsburg outscored the Comets 9-0 in the fourth quarter.

Alexis Blake scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Eddies, who also got 13 points from Olivia Hack.

Jenna Faultersack led Coloma with 16 points.
