Cass County Bridges to hold meeting

The Cass County Bridges out of Poverty coalition will hold a Day One Training and Community Conversation on Saturday, March 1 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost for the class is $50 per person, which includes both materials and lunch.

Bridges out of Poverty is an internationally recognized program for both understanding multiple causes of generational and situational poverty as well as training classes for those in poverty working towards self-sustainability.

The morning session will include discussions on the differences between generational and situational poverty, the different mental models and language understanding among different social classes, current poverty levels in Cass County and the latest research and understanding related to helping individuals and families climb out of poverty.

The afternoon session will include an update on the progress and success of Cass County Bridges out of Poverty as well as a round table discussion of the assets, tools and opportunities for continued collaboration and progress related to community development.
