Niles loses lead, game to Mattawan

OSHTEMO — Visiting Niles was outscored 45-29 over the final three quarters as Mattawan rallied for a 48-41 Big 16 West Division win at Kalamazoo Valley Community College Friday night.

The game was played at KVCC due to renovations to the Wildcats’ home court.

The Vikings (8-4) led 12-3 after one quarter of play, but found themselves trailing the Wildcats (3-9) 24-19 at halftime.

Mattawan held a 24-22 advantage in scoring in the second half.

Brooke Ditto had a game-high 21 points for Mattawan.

No Niles player reached double figures. The Vikings were led in scoring by Emily Games and Jazmin Brann, both of whom scored nine points.
