Pizza Transit will host its third Rock for the Cure event from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday at 215 E. Main St., Niles.

Sarah Britton, owner, said the money raised will go toward helping a local man in his fight against lymphoma.

For $10, people get all-you-can-eat pizza, drinks and live music by four bands — Laced With Blood, All My Sins Remembered, Twisted Aversion and Far Away.

The bands are performing free of charge.

Britton said each event has raised around $1,400. The response to past events has been so positive, Britton said she plans on doing about four a year.

“So far, it’s been wonderful. I never would have guessed that it would be so successful,” Britton said.

Britton’s goal is to raise another $1,400.

“Hopefully we can get there,” she said. “It’s going to be cold outside, but it will be pretty warm in here with all the pizza cooking. It should be a good time.”

There is also a Rock for the Cure 3 page on Facebook where people can indicate they are going to the event or donate to the local man fighting lymphoma.
